Adult: Solid black. Short legs and strong
stocky bill. Tail squared off, partially fan shaped. Its "caw" call helps to
distinguish it from the Fish Crow's "ca" which is nasal and pitched higher. The
American Crow flies with a business-like "flap, flap, flap" of the wings that
imparts a sense of purpose or planned destination.
Immature: Similar to adult.
Habitat: All forest habitats, agricultural and residential areas. Beaches and
landfills.
A Florida resident.
