Adult: White plumage. Yellow bill. Yellowish-green legs.

Breeding Adult: White with short orange-brown plumes on crown, neck, back and breast. Bill is peach, ending in yellow. Lavender lores.

Immature: Similar to adult. Legs and feet are dark. Smaller than immature Little Blue Heron.

Habitat: Salt and freshwater marshes. Grasslands, pastures with livestock and lawns.

A Florida resident.
