Cedar Waxwing
(Bombycilla cedrorum)

 Size: 7 inches 


Adult bird:
A crested bird with black eye-stripe. Brown.

Adult: An elegant crested bird with black mask and sleek appearance. Soft brown color above. Wings grayish with red spots. Tail grayish, ending in yellow band. Yellow belly and white undertail coverts. Except for the nesting period, Cedar Waxwings are almost invariably in groups.  

Immature:  Similar to adult but more gray plumage with streaky breast markings.

Habitat: Open country, residential areas. Forest habitats

A Florida resident.
