Carolina Wren

(Thryothorus ludovicianus)

 Size: 5 ½ inches


Adult:
Reddish-brown above, buffy below, with spots on undertail coverts. White eyebrow and chin. Tail often cocked.

Breeding adult: No significant change.

Immature: Similar to adult.

Similar species: Bewick’s Wren.

Habitat: All forest habitats, residential areas and parks.

Breeding: In Florida, March-August (likes to nest close to humans, in clothes, on clotheslines or in mailboxes.)
