Harris House of Atlantic Center for the Arts

Since 1982, Atlantic Center for the Arts' residency program has provided artists from all artistic disciplines with space to live, work and collaborate during three-week residencies. Although community outreach has always been an integral part of the mission, in 1991 ACA formalized the role of community arts by dedicating a building to its fulfillment.

Atlantic Center for the Arts at Harris House is named in honor of Atlantic Center Trustee Ed Harris and his late wife, Joan. The Harrises provided the funds to purchase and renovate an historical Lutheran parish house and establish a permanent cultural community center in the heart of revitalized downtown New Smyrna Beach. Since its inception, Atlantic Center at Harris House has assumed a leadership role in providing arts education programs for thousands of children, cultural enrichment for adults, exhibition opportunities for outstanding Florida artists, expanded volunteer opportunities for residents, and complementary partnerships with businesses, individuals, organizations and schools.

Exhibitions are free and open to the public. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., Tuesday through Friday; and 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., Saturday.
