Halifax Historical Museum
The focus of the museum is to present the history
of the Halifax area with artifacts from early plantations and pioneer families as well as
an extensive photographic and postcard collection, and beach auto racing memorabilia. It
also features a research facility with books, old city directories and phone books,
documents, and maps.
A video theater with seating for 50 features a
large screen television and videos on the history of the area. Housed in the former 1910
Merchants Bank building, the walls are graced with hand-painted murals depicting early
Florida history, and highlighted by Beaux Arts styling of stained glass windows, and
lighting. Museum hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
