Jackie Robinson ball park and historic
site
Dedicated to the
famous player who broke the color barrier in baseball. Site of the first racially
integrated spring training game which led to equal opportunity in modern major league
baseball. On March 17, 1946, Jackie Robinson was called up to play for a Brooklyn Dodgers
farm team, the Montreal Royals. In 1947, Robinson was selected to play in the major
leagues for the Brooklyn Dodgers and went on to become a Hall of Fame legend.
