Partnerships
Volusia County Leisure Services has entered into partnerships involving
non-profit organizations, cities, the State of Florida and the School board of Volusia
County.
A unique partnership between Volusia County
Government and the School Board of Volusia County has created 34 "instant
parks." This spirit of cooperations uses shared resources and mutual planning to
produce quality education and recreational opportunities for Volusia County residents.
Recreational facilities are used by students and
physical education classes during the school day. The facilities become "instant
parks" for afternoon, evening and weekend community-based recreational activities
serving all ages.
In addition Volusia County has entered into
interlocal agreements with several Volusia County cities in which the cities may own the
parks and the cities enter into a contract with Volusia County Leisure
Services.

organizations.
